Hello, Im Genevieve Taylor (AKA Gem)

Growing up in the far north west of Australia, I have always been captivated by the regions raw beauty; a rugged landscape met at it’s edge by a constantly changing but always alluring ocean.

Constant exposure to this natural beauty has given me a love of bold colours and a desire to focus in on the intricate details that can be overlooked when our surroundings are so overwhelming. 

I love to create and reinterpret images of creatures and characters found in our natural environment - fish, crabs, birds, camles and the mighty bulls that roam the vast interior. My images strip away their natural setting and allowing the owner to create a unique setting for the artwork in their own space.

I’ve been fortunate to travel the world, but as the saying goes “you can take the girl out of Broome but you cant take Broome out of the Girl”, Like so many who have wandered from their home I have returned to my Town by the Bay.
